The type of creativity I was refering to was that which pushes thought forward. Creativity without structure or focus is not creativity but more like wizzing against the wind. True creativity is the process of puting two or more thoughts that already exist, together in a unique manner, thus forming a new thought or way of thinking. I suggest that one refer to Husserel's cocept of mediation or Sartre's comments regarding the reflect consciousness to better understand how real creativity is arrived at. The process of creativity includes not only "free zone" thinking but also such mathmatical and cognative processes such as: combinations, permutations, mutations, devolution, ideation, reduction, mediation, transcendence, anxiety, and spirituality. I have always felt that mathmatical ability and creativity were inextricably related to each other. I think that the type of cognitive process you are refering to is that which leads to blind alleys such as Nietche's insane preoccupation with power or Van Gogh's unfortunate slid into self distruction in his attempt to better understand his pure genius. In a relatively new endeavor such as evolutional social/psychology I believe that too much structure can be dangerous and too little structure destructive. Lets walk that line between this polarity. Sincerely, ED
