I agree with you. However, I feel that some extra clarity on the issues involved and the words used to talk about those issues might facilitate communication and debate. For instance, objections to the modularity assumption of EP often seem to stem from the idea that EP is talking (read: writing) about Fodorian modules. I think that is a mistake that could have been avoided. Like most discussions, the discussion about modularity seems to be a discussion about definitions. I often feel that is a bit of a waste of time. Of course it is not a total disaster, but I do find it a pity...
