I just returned home after attending the Brief Therapy Conference. In my opinion, it was of a quality above any other professional conference that I have attended over the last twenty years. The Milton H. Erickson Foundation staff are to be commended for their preparation and attention to detail, as well as the incredible faculty they put together. From Arnold Lazarus to Jeffrey Zeig, every workshop/seminar/presentation that I attended was top drawer.
I have attended "certification" training put on by the Wellness Institute; which served to peak my interest in Ericksonian hypnosis. I attended the conference with an eye toward looking at different trainers for further training in Ericksonian methods. I am somewhat dismayed (grin) to discover that any of the faculty I observed would be excellent sources of further training. So, while I achieved my goal of experiencing several well known trainers, I could not narrow down my selection to any one specific. What was clear was the tremendous impact of MHE on those he came in contact with and his legacy to both psychotherapy and hypnosis. I look forward to continuing the journey.
