As moderator of this forum, I sometimes find myself in the difficult position of responding to people who post here in search for help with some psychological problem in their lives. Not knowing much at all about the people, I try to steer them in a helpful direction, at the same time as trying to keep this forum on topic. If such people include their email address in their posts, I encourage anyone who has helpful information to contact them through backchannel email....but I cannot encourage such off-topic discussions on this list.

If the woman of that post found my message to be callous, I sincerely apologize for that.
