The distinction between memory and recovered memory in the previous message is well taken. However, prepartation of a witness in anticipation of deposition or trial testimony may color memories, suggest enhancing details and lead to false impressions. For example, the prepared witness may seem more confident in his memory generally and in the details if it, like the number of the license plate of the identification of persons. This phenomenon has a real impact on the triers of the facts. Consequently, the distinction advanced between memory and recovered memory has a very blurred border.
