If you look at his description, it sounds as though he was badly treated by some therapist who tried using a version of "EMD" as described in my 1989 article--not EMDR. While neither have been known to cause any of the problems he mentioned (in close to two million clients) it's another reason for the EMDR International Association to become known for its standards of training and clinical practice ( http://www.emdria.org).
The website is misinformed about a variety of things. EMDR has more research supporting it than any other method used for treating trauma--and no methods are "approved" by the American Psychological Association. When I last saw the website he had corrected these errors and realized the fault was in the therapists, not the method. My guess is that a malfunction has taken place and reverted to his original copy.
