I can in some ways relate to what you are saying. I do not fear having my therapist watch me but I do not like to converse with him as to what is happening. I am a slow processor and cannot ofen quickly verbalize what is going on. My therapist allows me to do the session "in my head." He is there if I need assistance or need to talk. Usually a couple days after the session I will fax him my experiences and how I feel I am processing the information. It has worked wonderfully. I know this is not the same situation as you find yourself in, but my advice would be to keep the lines of communication open with your therapist and give EMDR a try. Do not judge your experience by one session. Try it for a couple of session. I know it works and it can work for you.
