This is now the third time I'm writing this post having it lost it twice to the frame freezing!
Vic-- I'm left with the thought of 'now what'? You've presented the dream, offered references, reviewed a bit about Freud and the difficulties of translation (imagine how many other texts must have been tainted this way as well) and offered some limited comments about interpretation. But... and excuse me for being a bit dense here... I don't yet know where this is going or specifically what you have written about relative to this material. Maybe I need to read more carefully!
Are we discussing dreams outside an ongoing therapy, a separate theory of dreaming, the dream as a reflection of the onging therapy relationship (my bias), manifest versus supposedly unconscious content or the meaning of the Irma Dream in the context of theory development, etc. As with the black boxes posts, I look for a place to hang my hat (so to speak), but instead I just end up looking around not finding a hook!! Hmmm, come to think of it, I just remembered that there were earlier postings from you about dreaming. I will go back and read those as well.
