My therapist recently refered me to another therapist to try EMDR. I have had panic disorder and social phobia for 4 years now and I'm looking forward to trying this therapy. However, in order to have the best chance of success I want to make sure the EMDR therapist is well-qualified before beginning therapy. What are the best questions to ask/ways to find out the qualifications of an EMDR therapist for the best chance of success wit this therapy? Are there any risks to EMDR therapy? I'm significantly more functional now than I was a few years ago due to traditional and CBT therapies, however, although I have fewer psychological symptoms my physical symtoms of stress are about the same, headaches, body tension, high blood pressure, dizziness, etc. Is there a chance I could regress from where I am now functionally? Any other risks to consider? How long does it take before patients begin noticing results? Can it take over 6 months or a year to see results? Thanks for your help. Matt
