"Does it work?" PATIENT asked what the general public want to know. It is all very well to have 'academic discussions' & quote the results of trials & so on but the question still remains, "will it work for me?" There is no short answer to that question. Often a patient finds 'that it worked' & that may or may not be because of something that 'happened' in a session or it may be because rapport with therapist worked that day, or the patient just happened to be ready to accept the need to change, consciously, subconscious, unconsciously. Maybe it was just the size of the fee. Who knows? For something to really work you have to work at it. If you want to modify your behavior & improve at anything you need to get tough on yourself, set small digestible, achievable goals & do your homework. If people started really doing that the therapy industry would go out of business.
