I'm very sorry this happened to you. As a DID and an EMDR client, I think your therapist was out of line if he/she just yelled for no apparent reason. My therapist has never yelled at me. We may have not always understood at the same level and time - may have misinterrupted comments or emotions, but she has certainly never touch me or us without an OK. Perhaps, I should say she never believed or thought she yelled, I or perhaps someone inside thought she did. But we talked about it and came to the conclusion that she wasn't yelling at us, we misinterrupted her and her frustration. She too, is human. But never, never has she nor do I believe would she touch us unless she was told it was OK. Unfortunately, or perhaps thankfully, therapist are HUMANS and I think they become frustrated, they care, they want to help, and it just isn't an easy task. And I assume that us DIDs are much more complicate than most. So, while I agree they certainly shouldn't touch without permission, nor should they yell, on their behalf, perhaps they don't consider themselves as yelling and we do, because of our makeup. I think it is impossible to expect a "good" therapist to NEVER display emotions. Actually, I don't think I'd care for one that didn't have some trace of being human. I, personally, don't care to have a robot treating me. I want, and need, to know that he/she actually cares, and emotions are a rather definite display. Although, constant emotional displays would probably make me run and run fast and far. I wasn't there so I really don't know. Just a thought. Best to you, Prefer Unknown
