Resource installation, attributed to Andrew Leeds, PhD, is a means of strengthening internal positive resources. It works for many, and not all, people (based on clinical experience -- there is no controlled research on it). Some people have blocking beliefs that interfere with their acceptance of the positive. Example: "who will I be if I'm not this miserable", or "I'm required to stay in pain out of loyalty to my parent" or "I don't deserve to feel good" or many others. Those beliefs, once identified, can be targeted directly with EMDR. The above comments are general, not tailored to your case, and you're right -- additional discussion with your therapist is indicated. If you review the archives of this forum, you may find prior discussion of resource installation.
