I know of no controlled studies on this point. However, there are several protocols in this arena but no articles that I can recall. My favorite protocol is that first offered by Landry Wildwind in about 1992 for anaclitic depression, there is no article, only a tape from an early EMDR conference. In this protocol an introject parent is improved to the point it can provide ideal nurturing to the child self. There is April Steele's Imaginal Nurturing protocol. In that approach the adult self provides ideal nurturing to the child self. There are workshops and maybe no articles that I've seen anyway. In spite of the absence of publications in the area, many of us spend a good deal of EMDR time remediating attachment injuries with good results.
