I can't predict what you in particular will feel like cuz I just don't know. I trust your therapist has screened you for dissociation and determined that you aren't dissociative. That's really the only thing that is associated with very difficult outcomes, if the therapist skips that on somebody who IS dissociative (and of course I'm not saying you are - I'm sure I don't know). Most people have a pensive time after a first EMDR session. Sometimes people feel tired, or weepy, or just thoughtful. Sometimes people feel quite disturbed, if the EMDR didn't finish. That's why we recommend 90 minute sessions especially for the first EMDR. Bottom line is if you did well with safe place, you'll likely do well with EMDR. Beneficial processing to you!
