There are no studies I know of on this subject. There are case reports of individuals being helped by EMDR when their psychosis is a response to an acute stressor. Many people are diagnosed incorrectly with schizophrenia just because they hear voices or have hallucinations, when they should be diagnosed with a dissociative disorder. Voices and other so called Schneiderian signs are actually more pathognomic of dissociative disorders than of schizophrenia. Especially when someone has a trauma history, I would double check those diagnoses, and at least screen with the DES-A (Adolesent form of the Dissociative Experiences Scale) as a first step to see if a dissociative diagnosis might be appropriate.
