Practitioner Qualifications

Hello.

I am in the process of finding an EMDR practitioner and need some guidance. I have visited the websites of the EMDR Institute and EMDRIA for referrals in my area, but I'm not sure which organization's qualifications I should use as a basis for my decision.

It appears that the EMDRIA qualification requirements are more stringent when compared to the EMDR Institute. I also found that none of the EMDR Institute practitioners in my area are EMDRIA certified and vice-versa. Is this relevant?

Could somebody provide some direction and insight, because I am very confused.
