Sounds like your therapist needs to assess what is governing those internal dynamics to make sure there isn't confusion going on. I can't say specifically about your case. For clients in general, I'd be assessing whether all relevant parts of self were oriented to the fact they are in my office, its 2004, we're in Fair Oaks not Cincinatti, and that the trauma isn't happening now. These points may not be relevant in your case, but that's my general response whether or not a client has DID (Parts With Attitude) or just regular old parts of the self like everybody has.
