I'll make some general comments without speaking specifically to your case, to which my comments may or may not apply. Often, EMDR on a current or recent event triggers deep processing of very old material. Sometimes that is evident by the content, and sometimes it is only implicit by the results or by checking old issues to find that they have changed too, in addition to recent ones., Its very very common for there to be residual processing after EMDR, and sometimes it is body sensations, but can be emotions, thoughts or pictures too. Panic is often, tho not necessarily, about disowned feelings. People panic when it feels like, say, anger or shame are getting too close to the surface. EMDR may cause those feelings to be closer to the surface, so that may be scary. The best thing tho is to dive into the feelings and just have them, own them. Then there is nothing to panic about. Sometimes it is helpful to do EMDR on ones worst fear that the panic surrounds. Examples: "I might die." I might go crazy" I might behave uncontrollably and no one would help." If the EMDR goes to the future, and asks, "and then what....and then what....and what could you do then" that helps some people.
