Resource Installation is a variation on the original EMDR protocol. The original/standard protocol targets a negative experience, or trauma, and processes it to an adaptive resolution, either neutral or positive. The resource installation protocol targets a positive resource that the client would like to have or strengthen, and vivifies it, making it stronger and more available to the client. Another protocol that targets the positive is the performance enhancement protocol, which is used for executives, athletes, performers, and other professionals. It also targets a desired positive outcome, neutralizing internal distractions to that optimal performance, and strengthening felt sense of skill execution. Dr. Andrew Leeds originated the resource installation protocol within EMDR. Dr. Sandra Foster and Dr. Jennifer Lendl originated the performance enhancement protocol within EMDR, and I have added a strategic vision variation on their performance enhancement protocol. In Massachusetts, I'd call certified EMDR professionals and consultants, and ask them what they know about the resource installation protocol and where they learned it, and whether they've used it much. I don't know any other way to get that information except their self report, as resource installation is not a certified standard.
