For most people, Resource Installation is easier going than trauma processing because it strengthens positive inner resources and abilities, rather than uncovering painful affect. Bilateral stimulation is used to "install" or strengthen desirable attributes that the client seeks. It is done by finding a time in life when one did perform or feel in the desired way and vivifying those memories. Those attributes are then typically brought forward into the present and future, and anchored in a vivid way. For people who recall no such time, other methods are used to borrow those attributes from other sources. Most people find this procedure very enjoyable and self-confidence and self-esteem building. There isn't controlled research on it, and a few people don't show clinical benefit from it. Most do, based on clinical observation.
