Sandra, "Francine Shapiro incuded the Sufi light stream approach because is it universal, and transcends just about everything... Although the following prayers are not not part of the Institute training, I offer it.I figure they can't hurt. ..." I say the following not as a reprimand, but just to say how things are with me, as that is a big piece of what I am working on right now, and I hope you will take what I say in that spirit -- that I am practicing that skill. Unfortunately, anything that mentions God, the Lord, Christ, etc., is a trauma trigger for me. I guess this just underlines how individually things have to be tailored for every client. I'm glad you included the Navajo prayer. It reminds me of a round I learned some years back. I wish I could post the music, but ah, well, at least here are the words: Now I walk in beauty, It strikes me that this text may simply be a different version of the Navajo prayer. I can remember how happy I was in the place and with the person I learned it from and the people I sang it with (although if I expand my memory of that person beyond that very specific time and place, I run into yet more triggers of a completely different nature...). Perhaps I should rewrite that song with the words "Life is a carnival" to go "Life is a minefield..." Thanks once again. Smiling ruefully,
Beauty is before me,
Beauty is behind me,
Above and below me.
