>>That occurrence is more rare than when the therapist pushes the client and the client, wanting to be a "good compliant patient" agrees to do more EMDR or more rapidly than may be beneficial. << i trust (or try to) the therapist to 'pace' me. my role is to be honest. that's where i have to take the 'leap of faith' - that my therapist has the ability, skills and has done what they've needed to and knows what is in my best interest and when i am ready and how far to go. i don't want to look at any of it, and probably wouldn't (part of the problem). being a "good, compliant patient" is part of the package of 'trust', the way i see it.
