The goal of EMDR shouldn't be "Have we processed every single thing that can be processed." People can get hooked on processing, the adrenalin of processing trauma. Rather, the question should be, "How is my life going?" If there are still symptoms, the therapist should be able to formulate it theoretically and help arrive at targets to address the symptoms. If the answer is, "Life is good enough" then no more EMDR is necessary. Some will want more, meaning, more fulfillment, higher performance, greater actualization, in which case EMDR may still be of benefitl
