Fibromyalgia is sometimes related to unexpressed trauma and/or emotions stored in the body. Some people call it somatic dissociation.

I have one client in whom we can cause her pain to go up or down depending uon whether she admits or denies her feelings of anger (sometimes she feels she shouldn't feel anger). Her fibromyalgia pain acts like a geiger counter for being true or untrue to her own core self.

I'm glad you had such a great experience with EMDR.
