I wanted to post back and say that I was very impressed with my experience on Tues. We worked on a "good" memory and a moderately "bad" memory and I left very stable and grounded. Several times aspects of the "bad" memory associated to deeper issues and the therapist was very good at redirecting me (kind of adamant, actually).

He does not do or have knowledge of ego state therapy... we discussed that. He does have a knowledge base that I find congruent with ego state therapy (Jungian theory and the Shadow). He has lots of experience with dissociative clients.

Overall, I'd say I'm really happy, after two sessions I haven't noted any "red flags" and I've felt better after each session than when I showed up. But the emdr will only be on a trial basis, so we will see how things develop.

    Thanks for your response. :)
