I'll make some comments that may or not apply in this particular case. As you know, I don't have enough info here to make case-specific comments. In general, even a few sets of eye movements can dissolve dissociative barriers, which is why when EMDR is attempted on DID individuals without appropriate preparation, the process either loops immediately or causes flooding, sometimes immediately and sometimes later. Therapists should never do EMDR on a highly dissociative client without appropriate training in treating dissociative disorders andwithout knowing a protocol for use of EMDR with DD. This has been the position of the EMDR Institute since 1992.
