I suspect that what many here are bored of is hearing hostile and often childish attacks against EMDR and those who practice it. It would be commendable if a decision has been made to ignore such posts, unless the comments and discussion which follows maintains a respectful tone. Diversity in clinical approaches and clinical perspectives is a wonderful thing - it enables consumers to make choices and to find what works for them, while also allowing individual practitioners with diverse interests and skills to find methodologies that they are able to use comfortably and effectively. Animosity and hostility do not particularly advance knowledge or expertise, they merely lead to a desire to dismiss the speaker. While I feel that there may be merits to contrasting EMDR's effectiveness and utility with different client populations and/or different issues, I for one am not particularly interested in reading angry, sarcastic, or belittling comments, and am quite glad that the board has been quiet in response to this.
