Whatever is calming for some people may have different effects for others. As well, sounds, sights, smells, etc., affect individuals differently in various conditions and circumstances. It may be helpful to keep in mind the concept of "triggers" or cues that elicit specific thoughts, emotions, memories, and behaviors and each individual's unique learning history associated with them. Whatever the reactions, they can be enjoyed and/or understood and contribute to each person's coping skills.
