Hi
I am an undergraduate at Indiana Univ. and am interested in side-effects of EMDR. I have been a part of EMDR sessions in the past and now suffer much less from the PTSD. My question may sound off the wall but please be gentle those who reply. I began having seizures about the same time I was in therapy. I went through every physical test possible to determine thier cause but no diagnosis came. I soon had to limit my computer time, only watch one large screen movie in a day ( due to time my family used to movie blitz) and had trouble during sememsters that large amounts of materials were required to be read.
My question is it possible that the rapid eye movement associated with these three activities be a sideffect of EMDR. I am not asking this in a negative only a search for a possible connection. Also I have successfully increased my memorization skills for tests by paying attention to how my eyes move during study time and attempt to simulate this during testing. It has worked as memory device but has any study been done in this area? Thank you for response and if you send a message I may be unable to reply due to the computer time constraint but am interested to hear answers and responses to these questions.
Lorie
