This is a response to McFall's original post with this subject heading. I think it's important to distinguish between clinical and scientific communications. I don't think you'll find too much about pre-verbal conditions, alien abductions, past-life experiences, etc., in the literature reporting on controlled studies. At least, not until someone does such a study. On the other hand, as clinicians we need to be able to talk about our experiences. If we were afraid to tell each other what we are observing, we'd be in a sorry state (and science would never progress). Anyone can dig into clinical conversations and find little nuggets of weird-sounding things to embarrass people with, but I don't think that's productive. There has to be a place to talk about what we see.
