    cerebral palsy and urinary retention

Has anyone had experience using EMDR to treat bladder problems in spastic cerebral palsy? The specific difficulty is that the bladder sphinctre seems to go into spasm, necessitating long periods of time in the bathroom. The person, a friend and colleague, also describes herself as having a "shy bladder" and while I can appreciate that may indeed be the case, her doctor feels the bladder problem is more a function of the CP than of the shyness aspect.
