BTW, I actually believe very strongly in energy healing. It has helped me a great deal, although I am not sure that I would chose Bioenergetics. I've only experience Reiki in passing. So, I wasn't discouraging the healing form. Frankly, it's my preferred mode of healing. However, one needs a good supportive, intelligent, and skilled healing relationship as well. As a meditator, energy is the form that I use. However, I strongly believe that 100 years from now, people will look back on this period in the history of psychotherapy and see it as somewhere between draconian and quaint, and certainly abitrary, much like we view 19th medicine today. I warn anyone to seriously do their homework before they chose a therapy or a therapist. It's not that effective most of the time, and it can do great damage as often as it can be highly helpful. Finding something that works is a matter of chance, trial, and error. Was I magnanimous? Perhaps, yes. I understand the frustration of ineffective therapy and the trauma of damaging therapy. And, effective, harmless, and honest therapy is just an important cause to me.
