As I said, I personally think people can vigorously argue without gettting personal. So we are in agreement with that. Thus far I don't hear any particular complaints about my civility (or lack thereof). My point, however, was that even if/when it does get personal, there is a bigger goal here: Advancing knowledge. I certainly think that knowledge should not be held back just because someone is offended by the messenger. Call me a bleedin' heart liberal, but I think education is a better first step then censorship. But it's your service, administer it as you see fit.
