If you wish to advance the hypothesis that eye movements are an effective component of EMDR, and that the previous dismantling studies are inadquate for whatever reason, then please, specify what would be the appropriate control condition and then provide positive evidence that eye movements actaully make a difference. Picking apart extant research to explain away null results does not provide absolution from the burden to provide positive proof.
