Sandra, You mentioned in the response to Mandela the idea of fractionation. Emdr can trigger more things, can bring forward a lot of things and can deal with a lot in one short session. A lot can get cleared away in a session or two. As we never know, for sure, what may get connected with during an emdr session and, therefore, be resolved through that session how can emdr be fractionated? It seems like fractionation would be like shutting down the natural process which emdr stimulates. I understand that fractionation is suggested when a client dissociates a fair amount and is not necessary in all cases. However, I still wonder about how it is done and the real benefit of it if the natural process stimulated by emdr is shut down. It is like the process is started, opened up and then stopped. I guess I could state/describe it as being anti-emdr! Not sure if I put this out very clearly, there is a word or two I've been searching for and they elude me at present. As soon as I post this the words will come to mind for sure!
