    Lots of Trauma

I have a question about my EMDR therapy. I lost a family member in a very traumatic accident six months ago and have been undergoing EMDR for about four months. During that time I have stumbled upon a childhood attack that we have been working on with EMDR therapy. I have a great therapist and sessions were progessing very well, but other big external stressful situations have popped up while undergoing therapy; a severe car accident, a family member attempting suicide, and finding out my spouse has been unfaithful. Are these external events going to interfere with the progress I was making and want to continue to make? In other words are there to many external stressors in my life to focus on EMDR right now?

    Thanks
