I am wondering if someone could possibly give me a little advice. I have been seeing a counsellor for app. 18 months now. Mainly to help with the effects that child abuse has had on my life. In total I have had about 5 intermittent sessions of EMDR. Each time causes me extreme distress, which results in a severe panic attack. Is this the usual? Also, this may sound a dumb question but can EMDR help to alleviate the totally negative way that I still feel about men. Men really do freak me out, big time - and there is no way that I can see me ever in a postion to be able to have a relationship.
