[MODERATORS NOTE: THIS POST HAS BEEN HEAVILY EDITED TO DECREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF TRIGGERING IN SIMILARLY TRAUMATIZED READERS. This was my Life Prior to EMDR

    The Beginning

    5 to 6 years old

So much of my childhood is a blank. Twelve years almost is missing.
I have bits and pieces here an there that are filled

[MODERATORS NOTE: MANY PARAGRAPHS DELETED HERE]

You see the memories come back to me little by little with the help of therapy.

But I have been blessed to have my Family and their love. My daughters, my four beautiful Granddaughters. And
especially my adopted daughter who I love with all my Heart.

    Hi Dr. Shapiro
I wrote you a few years back on how EMDR had improved my life.

My old Therapist an I still talk now an then just to keep in touch.

I have been without a suicide attempt since 10/99 now. I am functioning without any Medication now. I sleep now with out any nightmares.

I am working and loving it.
It is so amazing how My life has changed since the use of EMDR an Treatment by Dr, Janis Christensen, in Nashville, TN.

I don't think you will ever realize how much this has meant to me. I am what I call a normal person if there is such a thing. I recommend to all the survivors that belongs to my group to try an get there therapist to refer them to someone who uses EMDR Treatment so they can move on.

What happen to me as a child no longer bothers me at all. I don't think about it an I truly believe that is why so many survivors cant move on is there mind wont let go of the pastt. I am thankful to be alive now. I have 6 grandchildren an one more on the way. I know if I hadn't found this treatment I probably wouldn't be here with the living today enjoying working, living an my grandbabies.

Thank you so much for giving my life back with the Treatment you started all so many years ago. I don't know if you will remember me but I was MPD, BI-polar, PTSD, an a few others I don't care to remember right now or ever.
I don't think Thank you is enough but is I have to give along with my Testimony.

    Zulaikah

Everyone that Treats or uses EMDR Keep up the Great Work.
    God Bless you all.
