    There are no controlled studies on any treatment used for dissociative disorders. However, EMDR has become a treatment of choice for many experts specializing in dissociation. It is important that your clinician be completely trained in both EMDR and dissociation.

    EMDR protocols are available to help build up resources and increase stabilization. One by Drs. Andrew Leeds and Deborah Korn is called Resource Development and Installation. If your clinician is not aware of it, please relay the information. The use of this protocol should help to decrease the amount of difficulty you are having.

    EMDR's effects should not be temporary when treating trauma experiences.
