Why use EMDR when there are empirically validated and effective treatments out there that you don't need to take a chance on. Look for a therapist who does cognitive behavior therapy for social phobia. You may have to look high and low for a competent one but your efforts will be well worth it. The techniques of cognitive restructuring, exposures, homework, and social skills training will be most helpful for you. Good luck and know that you can overcome this.
