The preparation phase is extremely important and is emphasized in trainings and in the textbook. It needs to be customized to the needs of the client. It is important that you make a copy of the message you posted here and give it to your clinician. You then need to discuss each point in detail. The goal is not to "plow through." It is to have an open communication with your clinician so that you are both co-participants in the healing process. If you are not able to trust, feel during the processing, experience safety, etc.,-- it is extremely important to communicate the situation to your therapist.
