As psychodynamically trained psychotherapeutist I can not find useful clinical point for integration EMDR and psychoanalytitic psychotherapy. Focusing on correcting emotional experience during the therapeutist and patient transaction here and now in this psychotherapy on the one side I find as opposite to accent on memories and the past, passive position of therapeutist with lack of interventions in EMDR on the other side. But in some cases I think EMDR has advantages over psychodynamic psychotherapy. I mean excessive grief. In this case EMDR is more brief and equally effective therapy as psychodynamic.
