EMDR appears to activate an intrinsic information processing system we all have. During the EMDR session associated thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, etc. may arise. Your clinician can give you some examples before you begin. Some people have new memories or insights emerge. Others simply have a dropping off of the symptoms. Each session is unique to the need of the client. If you want to see some examples of sessions take a look at the paperback: EMDR. It has verbatim transcripts of cases. It should be available in your library.
