I think the previous person has given you very good advice. Let me just add that EMDR is an eight phase approach. The first is history taking and the second is preparation. During the preparation phase the client and clinician establish truth telling agreements and trust. The client also learns self-control techniques in order to deal with distress that may arise during and after a session. Please speak to your clinician about your feelings. You need more preparation. Your clinician can only know what you choose to reveal. Please be willing to share your feelings. The only way for you to do EMDR "wrong" is to hide the truth. There is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of--it's all part of the healing process.
