Trish: FWIW:(politically incorrect comments)
You've got the crux of EMDR from your Level I training which you need to incorporate into the way you work with clients generally. EMDR never made anyone a better therapist. (This is something the credentialing people and the Institute have failed to recognise). Francine's book should help you avoid pitfalls. You don't need to rush into Level 2 thinking it will make you better at EMDR. Just keep doing it until you finally fulfill the requirements set forth by the Institute, then decide if you even need Level 2.
The EMDR people have become more and more insular and cult-like since the early 90's when I was trained. This is an unfortunate development. I'm sure there are plenty of therapists who use EMDR with excellent results and never seek Level 2. The nonprofit nature of the EMDR enterprise doesn't mean they don't want your money. Good Luck. - Dan
