Thank you for your encouragement. I am planning to work with a clinician in Charlottesville VA who claims to have good results. I was raised by a mother who watched her mother and dad die in Siberian camps of starvation. My dad also lived through this when he was in his teens. Mom basically has informed me repeatedly that nothing I have endured in my life is a "real" problem. You can imagine whatthis chronic message can do to a person's self esteem let alone the need to compete with mom for 'who has suffered most is the real woman' award. Thank you for your reply. I will begin my work tomorrow at 5 pm. I am encouraged. Do people from this typrof background where deep pain is present at all times find themselves comfortable in a mindset where there is less pain? Sometimes, the pain I think has taken away from the happiness in life, but sad to say, has also been a source of motivation at times...in that it provided strong desire to leave home and stay away. I hope happiness and talents can emerge in a controlled fashion. Is that whatyou might predict? Thanks again.
