If you decide to try EMDR, you should discuss it with your therapist first. EMDR is often used with conditions in which a person has been preoccupied with an incident since it occurred. That much is generally true, but I cannot say specifically in your case (a professional needs to assess the particulars) whether EMDR is appropriate. Good luck to you.
