I would like to suggest that somebody in charge (Francine, Sandra, Gil?) take a more active role in ensuring professional conduct on this forum. Specifically, I would suggest barring posts from those whose primary role is to provide heckling and harrassment rather than constructive contributions. Perhaps this could be done on a temporary suspension basis a time or two prior to permanent expulsion. I am NOT proposing censorship. In fact, I think that there are many elements of EMDR that may be the legitimate subject of debate, even when such comments may go "against" EMDR, including The fact that there are many remaining issues to resolve re EMDR does not mean that Rush Limbaugh-style tactics are appropriate in the discussion. Distortion, selective neglect of data, and harassment have no place here. Mental health professionals and academics in particular have an obligation to self-regulate in this regard. However, just because an individual may fail to hold him/herself to a professional standard, they should not be allowed to diminish the overall tone and quality of the discussion. I have tried ignoring this element in the discussion, and I have tried making statements opposing such behavior. Now I am requesting that it be controlled. It does damage and is not constructive. Thank you.

* complexity of EMDR and difficulty in providing adequate therapist training
