Question about CBT for Severe Autism (posted by Suzen W & mover by Jim Pretzer)

I am a case manager. One of my clients is a 45 year old male with severe autism. He is currently hospitalized and transitioning into the community. The hospital psychologist has suggested that I find a Cognitive Behaviral Therapist in the community for him. I was wondering if you thought that CBT would be an appropriate treatment for this man? I haven't read anything tht supports CBT for adults with autism. Thankyou, Suzen W.
