The most prominent proponent of the biopsychosocial model of disease has been George Engel. A good starting point would be one of his articles, e.g.:
Engel, GL (1980) The clinical application of the biopsychosocial model. American Journal of Psychiatry, 137: 535.
You would need some more up to date references though.
